The Custos makes the racking carry the floor: storage below, walk-on levels above, one steel doing two jobs, and fire coordination drawn in from the first sketch rather than argued in at the last.
A mezzanine is the cheapest floor you will ever buy — if it is engineered like a real one. Ours are: columns and primary beams calculated to Eurocodes, decking chosen for the load and the trade, stairs and edge protection to standard, and the full documentation pack for building control.
